A Legacy Begins
- In 1897, the firm was founded by DON ENRIQUE MAYNES GASPAR and DON CARLOS DE FORTUNY
- In 1954, DON ANTONIO DE FORTUNY Y MAYNES, grandson of the founders, joined the firm as a trainee.
- In 1956, ANTONIO DE FORTUNY Y MAYNES qualified and was admitted to the Barcelona Bar Association.
- In 1960, the firm relocated its head office to C/ Mallorca, marking a new phase of growth.

In 1962, FORTUNY LAWYERS began advising foreign investors and took its first steps towards international practice.
- In 1963, VALENTÍN MOLINS joined the firm, and a new office was established at C/ Balmes 191.

1962–1988
Global Reach Established
- In 1970, the firm opened a professional office in Marbella, focused on foreign investment.
- In 1981, a new office was launched in Madrid, with ELENA LARRAÑAGA ZULUETA joining the team.

Between 1983 and 1988, FORTUNY LAWYERS expanded into London, Stockholm, Alicante, Fuengirola, Gibraltar, and Tenerife, employing over 30 lawyers and staff.

1985–2005
Generational Growth
- In 1985, DON ALEJANDRO DE FORTUNY, great-grandson of the founders, became a practising lawyer.
- Between 1986 and 1995, he worked across offices in Marbella, London, Barcelona, and Madrid.
- In 1997, ALEJANDRO DE FORTUNY returned to Marbella to assume leadership of the firm.
- In 2000, the firm inaugurated its new Marbella headquarters at C/ Ricardo Soriano 12.

- In 2016, after 60 years of practice, DON ANTONIO DE FORTUNY retired.
